ICS 2026 International Churchill Conference – Churchill & America during America’s 250th!
The International Churchill Society is pleased to announce that Sir Christian Turner KCMG, His Majesty’s Ambassador to the United States of America, will join the 2026 International Churchill Conference in Philadelphia as a featured speaker.
Sir Christian took up his post as British Ambassador to the United States in February 2026, bringing extensive experience in diplomacy, national security, and international affairs. His distinguished career has included service as the United Kingdom’s Political Director at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, British High Commissioner to Pakistan and Kenya, and the Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser and Deputy National Security Adviser. He also previously served at the British Embassy in Washington.
His participation is especially fitting as the International Churchill Society gathers in Philadelphia during America’s 250th anniversary. The conference theme, “Churchill & America,” will explore Churchill’s deep connections to the United States and the enduring relationship between Britain and America that he did so much to strengthen.
That relationship remains central to Sir Christian’s work today. Speaking in Washington just this week, he reflected on the remarkable transformation of the Anglo-American relationship over the 250 years since 1776 and the importance of renewing the partnership for a new generation.
Join us in Philadelphia, October 15–17, for the 2026 International Churchill Conference and the opportunity to hear from Sir Christian Turner and an extraordinary group of speakers exploring Churchill, America, leadership, history, and the special relationship.
