Terms and Conditions

  1. An entry must consist of no more than 300 written words, or a video of no longer than 60 seconds.  All entries must be in the English language.
  2. Entries must be capable of being emailed or uploaded to https://winstonchurchill.org/inspire-like-churchill-2020 and must not exceed 2MB.
  3. There can only be one entry per person. Each entry must be solely your own work and by submitting your entry you warrant that this is your own work.
  4. By entering, you agree that the International Churchill Society [ICS] and associated entities may use your submission in press and publicity associated with this competition in all formats.
  5. Entries must be received by 12 noon on Sunday 30 May 2020 [Eastern Standard Time].
  6. Each entry must be accompanied with details of your name and a contact email address, and by the name and address of the healthcare organization or hospital to which you would like to donate any prize money.
  7. The First prize will be $10,000, the second prize $2,500 and there will be two third prizes of $1,250. These prizes to be awarded to a hospital, hospice, healthcare organization or frontline health charity/ non-profit of the winner’s choosing. In addition, the first prize winner and their guest will be entitled to a trip to an International Churchill Society event in New York or London comprising travel (economy class air fare), 2 nights hotel accommodation (3 star or above), and free attendance at the event. The winner will be responsible for arranging own visas and travel insurance where applicable.
  8. The competition will be judged by a panel of Churchill experts selected by the International Churchill Society. The judges’ decision will be final.
  9. The judges’ decision will be announced on the competition website on Tuesday 30 June 2020.
  10. The rules are subject to amendment having regard to any increased severity in the Covid-19 Pandemic.
  11. Entrants under the age of 18 must have the permission of their parent/guardian to enter and the parent/guardian should confirm this in an email accompanying the submission.
  12. The International Churchill Society will only hold personal data for the purposes and duration of this competition, unless the entrants have allowed ICS to hold it for other purposes by indicating a preference on the entry form. ICS will not share this data with third parties.
  13. No Board member or officer of the International Churchill Society, or any children thereof, are eligible to enter this competition.
