Lord Boateng Joins Annual Churchill Conference; London, 24–27 October

The Rt. Hon. The Lord Boateng, who presently serves as Chair of the Sir Winston Churchill Archive Trust, will once again participate in the annual conference of the International Churchill Society (ICS). The popular speaker is a former MP and Cabinet Minister, who has also served as British High Commissioner to South Africa. This year’s conference will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Central London. For more information and to register, please CLICK HERE.

Paul Boateng was born in London. First elected to Parliament in 1987, he served in several Cabinet posts under Prime Minister Tony Blair before his appointment as High Commissioner in 2005. Following his service in South Africa, Boateng was made a member of the House of Lords in 2010. He has since become a welcome and popular presence at many ICS events. During the global pandemic in 2021, Lord Boateng contributed a Foreword to Finest Hour 191, which dealt with the theme of “Churchill, Race, and Religion.” To read the article, please CLICK HERE.

While the historic Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair will host this year’s conference panels, events will begin with an evening reception at Dartmouth House, the home of the English-Speaking Union, on Thursday, October 24th. Conference sessions will commence at the hotel on the 25th, followed by a reception that evening at historic Lancaster House. The closing gala dinner will be held at the iconic National Gallery off Trafalgar Square. Conference events will also take place at the Royal United Services Institute in Whitehall.

Further details and updates about the conference will be posted here and on the ICS website during the coming months.
