2015 Conference: Full Program Announced

32nd International Churchill Conference in Oxfordshire, May 2015Heythrop-ParkHeythrop Park Hotel

Details of the full program for the 32nd International Churchill Conference have now been released. The conference will take place from 26-29 May with the Heythrop Park Hotel serving as headquarters. Events include dinners at both Ditchley Park and Blenheim Palace, a Keynote Address by Boris Johnson (Mayor of London and author of The Churchill Factor), and a memorial service before the Churchill family gravesite at St. Martin’s Church in Bladon. For more information and to register for the conference, please CLICK HERE.


Tuesday, 26 May

Reception, Dinner, Talk, Tour at Ditchley Park. Hosts: Mr Randolph Churchill & Mrs Clementina Flaherty. Speaker: Professor Ashley Jackson (author of Churchill.) Coaches to and from Heytrhop Park Hotel will be provided.

Wednesday, 27 May 

Churchill Day at Blenheim: Coaches depart for Blenheim Palace from Heythrop Park Hotel from 10 am to Noon and return from 4-6 pm.

Drinks Reception and Conference Buffet Dinner at Heythrop Park Hotel. Hosts: The Hon. Celia Sandys & Mrs Clementina Flaherty. Randolph Churchill will say a few words on Blenheim. Entertainment: Vera Lynn tribute act.

Memorial Service for Mary Soames

Royalty, Family and Friends Gather at Westminster Abbey

Mary_SoamesMary Soames, 1922-2014A Service of Thanksgiving celebrating the life The Lady Soames LG DBE, the beloved Patron of The Churchill Centre, took place at Westminster Abbey on November 20th. Mary Soames, the youngest and last-surviving child of Winston and Clementine Churchill, died on 31 May 2014 at the age of 91; a private family funeral took place a few days later. Some 1,300 people attended the service in the Abbey including family, friends and royalty. Many members of The Churchill Centre were present to pay their last respects. Some had travelled from as far away as California, British Columbia and Alaska, as well as Denmark and Portugal—a measure of their admiration and love for such a special person. Read More >

Local chapters of The Churchill Centre from Britain to Alaska gathered together on November 30th to celebrate Churchill’s life and career. Born at Blenheim Palace in 1874, Churchill passed away in January 1965. In 2015 The Churchill Centre will commemorate both of these events. Read More >
