Join us for a discussion on Churchill’s image with experts Kate Clements and Anthony Richards. Both authors are due to release new books later this year which include Winston Churchill: IWM Photography Collection, part of the IWM Photography Collection series and Anthony Richards book Churchill: A Visual History.
These new works provide a rich visual history of Churchill’s life by pulling together artefacts, interviews, art and photography from IWM’s extensive collections to present Churchill’s story like never before. The speakers have selected a series of images for this In Conversation With: event for an in-depth analysis into the defining moments of Churchill’s life as a politician, solider and wartime leader.
Following the talk, take the opportunity to explore Churchill War Rooms. From the Map Room where numerous operations were planned, to Churchill’s bedroom, where he made some of his famous speeches.
