Watch Live This Friday as Garry Kasparov Speaks to the 2022 Churchill Conference

Chess Grandmaster Garry Kasparov will deliver the 2022 Enid and R. Crosby Kemper Lecture at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri this Friday, October 7 as part of the 2022 International Churchill Conference. You can watch his address live via THIS LINK. Mr. Kasparov’s remarks will begin at 11:30 am Central Time (12:30 pm Eastern / 9:30 am Pacific / 5:30 pm in Britain).

An active member of the Anti-War Committee of Russia, created by Russian exiles in opposition to Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, Mr. Kasparov will bring historic resonance to the site where Winston Churchill delivered his famous “Iron Curtain” speech in 1946.

Widely considered history’s greatest chess player, Kasparov is also an outspoken advocate for human rights and democracy. He retired from competitive chess in 2005 to form the Russian anti-Putin coalition. Forced into exile by Putin’s crackdowns in 2013, he now lives with his family in New York City.

In addition to being able to watch the live stream of Mr. Kasparov’s speech, people may participate online in this year’s conference auction at https://auction.winstonchurchill.org. Items available include a leather-bound copy of Winston Churchill’s The River War and a Churchill Heritage fountain pen.
