The latest issue of Finest Hour is proving to be one of the most popular we have ever published. With the theme “Churchill and the RAF,” the issue includes feature articles about Churchill’s involvement with the Royal Air Force since the founding of the service in 1917. Not all of the material that we have on the subject, however, could be included in the print edition of the magazine.

“Leaders of ‘the Few’” tells the story of Winston Churchill and the leading Air Marshals of the Second World War. Bradley P. Tolppanen surveys the relations the Prime Minister had with five senior commanders in the RAF: Hugh Dowding, Charles Portal, Arthur Tedder, Sholto Douglas, and Arthur Harris. We have now posted these sketches on our website on the page we call “Finest Hour Extras.” To read the full text, please CLICK HERE.
