Black Tie Gala Dinner in the United States Capitol Building on 2 Nov.

David-Eisenhower_1David EisenhowerWashington, D.C.:  The Churchill Center is pleased to announce that distinguished historian David Eisenhower will deliver the keynote address to this year’s International Churchill Conference at the closing black-tie gala dinner in the United States Capitol Building’s historic Statuary Hall.  The grandson of the 34th President of the United States, David is the author of the bestseller Eisenhower: At War (1986), which was a Putlizer Prize Finalist.  He is currently director of the Institute for Public Service at the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania.  With his wife Julie Nixon Eisenhower, he co-authored Going Home to Glory: A Memoir of Life with Dwight D. Eisenhower.

statuary_hallStatuary HallConference Chairman Christopher Sterling has confirmed that The House Speaker’s Office has granted The Churchill Center the privilege of hosting this special dinner event in the National Statuary Hall, the original meeting chamber of the United States House of Representatives.  Five presidents were inaugurated in this venue, which now features statues of prominent Americans provided by each of the 50 states.  Congress customarily hosts a luncheon here on Inauguration Day for the newly sworn-in President.  Seating for this event is very limited.
