New Churchill bar to exhibit specially commissioned life size statue.
By Neil Gerrard
CATERER AND HOTELKEEPER, 18 September 2012—The Hyatt Regency in London is set to launch a new bar inspired by Sir Winston Churchill and his wife Clementine.
The Churchill will also have a private terrace within the hotel, which is situated just behind Marble Arch on Portman Square.
It will be filled with subtle references to a young Churchill through art, animals, Champagne, cigars and whisky.
The interiors are designed by Bespoke by Brigitta Spinocchia, a company known for its work on private houses and yachts.
The opening will also see the unveiling of a specially commissioned life-size bronze statue of Sir Winston by sculptor Laurence Holofcener.
Holofcener has cast a statue of Sir Winston before – the bronze “The Allies”, which depicts the former prime minister and President Franklin Roosevelt sitting on a bench, on London’s Bond Street.
