Watch this fascinating recording of his 1950 Election Broadcast speech, including outtakes. This clearly shows that his remarkable charisma and approach to speech-making and broadcasting (and his bad temper) were still very much in evidence in his later years although it could also arguably highlight the fact that he was a child of the radio age and perhaps found it difficult to adapt to the intimacy of television as a medium.
