Some have said that dyslexia may have been the cause of Churchill’s difficulties at school but in fact he himself probably played up his low grades in his autobiography, My Early Life. He had difficulty with maths but enjoyed English literature and history, and clearly had no problems with reading or writing (he went on to become a journalist and much-published author, even winning the Novel Prize for Literature).
