January 1, 1970

Churchill helped found Churchill College in 1960 at the University of Cambridge. It was established by Royal Charter and has been part of the University ever since.

Churchill’s aim in founding the College was to strengthen society through promoting the understanding of science and technology in partnership with the arts and humanities and in dialogue with industry and business. This is still the core mission of Churchill College today. Dedicated to excellence, innovation and leadership in education and research, the College still continues to thrive, priding itself on fostering a diverse and forward-looking academic community, actively encouraging academic links with industry and business.
