This 2015 anniversary year also sees the creation of a new research facility dedicated to the study of Churchill – and his ideas of citizenship and leadership – in Washington DC, the US capital. George Washington University is opening the first major research facility, with interdisciplinary academic programmes and educational exhibits, in its newly created National Churchill Library and Center (opening in stages over 2014 and 2015).
