A celebratory lunch is being hosted by The Churchill Centre at the Churchill Museum & Cabinet War Rooms on Monday 10 May 2010. This will mark the 70th anniversary of an important milestone in British history: the appointment of Sir Winston Churchill as Prime Minister of a Coalition government on 10 May 1940. At the lunch, Sir Martin Gilbert, author of the multi-volume official biography of Sir Winston Churchill and of numerous other books, will give a speech at the end of the lunch on the importance of Churchill becoming Prime Minister on 10 May 1940.
