The Seattle Chapter of The Churchill Centre would like to invite you to a lecture to hear Dr. David Freeman from California State University on Saturday, May 30th at 7:30pm. Dr. Freeman will be talking about Churchill’s involvement with the creation of the Modern Middle East in the 1920s. Freeman has completed research on Churchill’s involvement as British Colonial Secretary after World War I when he was charged with the responsibility of creating Iraq and bringing the Ottoman Empire to its conclusion – much to the later distaste of Osama Bin Laden! It will be a very interesting lecture and lively discussion I am sure!

Dr. Freeman teaches history at California State University, Fullerton. He has been a member of the Churchill Centre for over twenty years and is a regular contributor of articles and book reviews to the Centre’s journal Finest Hour. Additionally, he is the editor of a biographical study of Margaret Thatcher published this year in the UK.

The event will be hosted in the Great Hall of the Diocesan House at St. Mark’s in Seattle. The evening will begin at 7:30pm with an opportunity to meet Dr. Freeman over a hearty selection of appetizers and desserts from Elizabeth & Alexanders. The cost of the evening is $25.00, which can be paid on arrival.
We look forward to gathering again in Churchill’s memory and apply the legacy of his leadership to the dialog of current events today facing the Western world.
