
HOLLYWOOD: In January Gary Oldman earned the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in the critically-acclaimed film Darkest Hour. Oldman has now been nominated for an Oscar for the same performance and is considered the odds-on favorite to win.
In addition to Oldman’s nomination as Best Actor, there are five other Oscar nominations for Darkest Hour including Best Picture. Kazuhiro Tsuji and his team are thought to be sure winners for Best Makeup and Hairstyling given the amazing job they did getting Oldman to look like Churchill. The film is also nominated for Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, and Best Costume Design. The 90th annual Academy Awards will take place March 4 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California
