The 40th International Churchill Conference will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland

The International Churchill Society is pleased to announce that the 40th International Churchill Conference will be held in Edinburgh from 5-7 October 2023. This is the first conference to be held in Scotland!

Scotland holds a special place for Churchill, including being the home of Dundee, which Churchill represented in Parliament for 14 years (1908-22). Churchill's legacy continues to inspire people the world over. The 40th International Churchill Conference will honour his legacy by bringing together dedicated members and supporters of the Society to historic Edinburgh.

We are planning a full schedule of experiences, including exclusive visits to
The Royal Yacht Britannia, Edinburgh Castle, the National Museum of Scotland and Scone Palace. Conference lecture sessions will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Friday, 6 October.

Winston Churchill

I have myself some ties with Scotland which are to me of great significance—ties precious and lasting. First of all, I decided to be born on St. Andrew’s Day—and it was to Scotland I went to find my wife, who is deeply grieved not to be here today through temporary indisposition. I commanded a Scottish battalion of the famous 21st Regiment for five months in the line in France in the last war. I sat for fifteen years as the representative of 'Bonnie Dundee,' and I might be sitting for it still if the matter had rested entirely with me.

What to expect at the conference
