The International Churchill Society (ICS) continues to grow as online events and activities became the new norm in 2020 and set a pattern to follow in this new year of 2021. Two new local chapters have now been organized, one in Florida and the other in Arizona, which continue to remain fast growing “sunshine” states.

The International Churchill Society of Central Florida will primarily serve Tampa Bay, Orlando, and the neighboring communities. It is a region of thriving universities, vibrant culture, and popular entertainment venues. For more information, contact ICS member David Wynne here. David also serves as a moderator for the ICS Facebook group, which you can request to join here. Be sure to follow ICS on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn for the most up-to-date announcements about coming activities. You can follow the new Facebook page for the Central Florida chapter here.

On the other side of North America in Phoenix, Cita Stelzer, member of the ICS Board of Advisers and author of Dinner with Churchill: Policy-Making at the Dinner Table and Working with Winston: The Unsung Women Behind Britain’s Greatest Statesman, has organized a chapter in Arizona. This follows the visit to Phoenix last February (pre-pandemic) of Randolph and Jennie Churchill, who spoke to an overflow audience at a luncheon organized by the Sandra Day O’Connor Institute For American Democracy.

If the rollout of vaccinations proceeds accordingly, Andrew Roberts, author of Churchill: Walking with Destiny, will visit Phoenix in late spring of this year to address another luncheon as the chapter’s activities are ramped up. All suggestions and ideas are welcome and should be addressed to Cita Stelzer via email here or 12828 North 135th Street, Scottsdale AZ 85259.

The leaders of the new chapters are passionate about bringing the lessons of history to life. To that end, they will continually strive to share the enduring legacy of Sir Winston S. Churchill. Engaging that rich legacy, and preserving it for the future, will inspire all their content and events.
