Smoking cabinets have been a mainstay of British homes for centuries. Many times, they hang on the wall in a sitting room and are a designated storage place for pipes, tobacco, and other smoking necessities. This particular cabinet is unique and rare, as it has the image of the world’s foremost cigar enthusiast—Winston Churchill—carved into door. Made of oak, the cabinet measures two feet tall and a foot wide.

This piece is likely one of a kind, as it was hand made during the Second World War. Just think of the skill, time, and care someone utilized to ensure that the Prime Minister’s image was included on an item that was so often used within the home. Not only is this a practical item, it speaks volumes on patriotism, loyalty, and admiration of the Great Man.
