Winston Churchill Turns 140

Celebrating the 140th Birthday of Sir Winston Churchill.1210

Local chapters of The Churchill Centre from Britain to Alaska gathered together on November 30th to celebrate Churchill’s life and career. Born at Blenheim Palace in 1874, Churchill passed away in January 1965. In 2015 The Churchill Centre will commemorate both of these events.

The first issue of Finest Hour published next year will cover the fiftieth anniversary of Churchill’s death. The 32nd International Churchill Conference, to be held in May, will include events at Blenheim Palace as well as a memorial service at the Churchill family gravesite in the yard of St. Martin’s Church in Bladon.

The cake pictured above accentuated the festivities of the Southern California Churchillians birthday gathering.
