Where: The Denver Croquet Club, The “Lawn” at Washington Park
The Denver Croquet Club & the Rocky Mountain Churchillians would like to extend an invitation to you for an afternoon of socializing and to play the sport of croquet as played by Sir Winston S. Churchill on his Croquet Lawn at Chartwell.
This is the British version of the Sport of Croquet and is quite different from the Croquet most Americans are familiar with from back yard days. However the “Golf Croquet” version is very easy and quick to learn at the social level. If interested one can also learn the skills to compete internationally in “Golf Croquet”. Wearing white is definitely not necessary – all colors are welcome — just dress comfortably.
The location is “The Lawn,” near the northeast corner of Grasmere Lake and the Mount Vernon Garden at Washington Park. It is about one tenth of a mile into the park, entering on Mississippi Ave and Franklin St on the east side of the park. Be sure to leave plenty of time for parking. This is our Third annual Croquet Event. Please make it an annual fun afternoon for you as well.
Please bring your own beverage choice (champagne, beer wine or such) and a plate to share. Although there is no cost to attend and play, Please plan to make a donation to the Denver Croquet Club. (The Club is responsible for all the costs associated with maintaining the croquet lawn. Your donation is tax deductible)
Please email RSVP/regrets by October 8th to:
Everett Engstrom here; or call Everett at 720-913-9040
Please register early as the number of people will be limited to the maximum allowable for the course.
